How the game works: Rebel Revolt is broken into 4 challenges. You'll receive these as printed puzzles, and check your answers as you go. Hints and solutions are available in-game, but using them costs you Rebel Points. If you're playing competitively, that could cost you big.

The Briefing
Read this aloud to your rebels before the mission begins:
"The United World Government has almost finished building their Warhead Antimatter Response (W.A.R.) facility. We can't let that happen," shouts Maxx, the leader of our rebel resistance. "You lot are our last hope."
"Frankly, after the last 3 teams didn't make it back, I'd all but given up on this mission," she barks with undue optimism.
"In this treasonous mission, you must: disable the guard mechs, then break into the W.A.R. facility without being detected, then steal the Antimatter Warhead and rig the facility to blow."
"You're all Specialists. Our best and last hope. This facility cannot come online if our resistance is ever to succeed."
Choose Your Team
Each player starts by choosing a Character Card, which is your persona to adopt during the mission. You'll all have a chance to take charge and lead the team to victory during a particular challenge. It will require you to step up, manage communication, read the relevant mission details, and make the calls that get your team to the other side.
Optionally, feel free to role-play, use a different accent, and generally be the biggest ego in the room.
Jump Online… Or Don't…
Rebel Revolt is designed as an online game: you go online to check your answers and access hints and solutions when your team gets stuck (of course, we're sure you won't get stuck, you're far too clever!). The mission website address is printed on your game cards, just type it into any phone's browser when the game asks you to.
However, we know better than to give rules to a group of trigger-happy rebels! You can also play Rebel Revolt fully offline with the Printable Hints pack: just print the "printable hints" PDF found in the "game" folder of your download, and you're good to go. (And don't worry, you can fold the hints sheet to play it completely spoiler-free!)
The Training Mission (How To Solve Puzzles)
To get a feel for how puzzles work, try solving the Training Mission card before starting the game. If you get stuck, tap a hint below for a clue. If you're still unsure, open the solution box to reveal the answer. Remember: in the real game, using hints loses you Rebel Points.
The Training Puzzle
Hint
A is for apple. It's also the 1st letter of the alphabet.
Solution
In this cipher A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on. By swapping each number with the correct character, you get the name:
1.12.2.5.18.20 = A.l.b.e.r.t
How Did You Go?
Once you've completed the Training Mission, it's time to get this party started! Move through the game challenge by challenge (stack of cards by stack of cards), checking answers as you go.
Yes, the crafty one among you just mentioned cheating… but it's a lot more interesting to solve the puzzles and have fun. Keep being cunning though. You're going to need it.
