How To Print The DIY Escape Kit
Print at Home
Open the PDF file Print at Home Version.pdf and print the escape kit on standard A4 paper at home, or take it to a printing/xerox shop. To keep the gritty look and feel, choose matte/satin paper rather than gloss.
The game is designed for teams of 1-5 players. Got a larger group? Just print the kit out several times and run it as a competitive team event.
- 1-5 players Print 1 copy
- 6-10 players Print 2 copies
- 11-15 players Print 3 copies
- 16-20 players Print 4 copies
Optional: Posters & Party Invites
Rebel Revolt also includes optional posters and party invites to make the experience even more immersive. None are required to play, but if you want to go the extra mile, it's totally worth it.
Add In Real World Props

Lock The Disguise Kit
Put the clue cards for Challenge 2 into a small box, then lock it with a combination lock or bike lock matching one of the puzzle answers. There are two puzzles in this challenge that produce a combination:
Distance: 1050
Or Use A Letter Lock
Bullet caliber spells out a 5-letter word that works with some letter-combination bike locks:
Caliber: FIFTYSet the lock to either combination, when players open it they get the Disguise Kit clue cards. Themes nicely if you label the box "Disguise Kit."
Prep The Clue Cards
To steal the antimatter warhead, you and your team will need to complete several sets of challenges, delivered on Challenge cards. Start by splitting these into 6 piles before the game begins. If you printed the pack on A4 paper, cut out the images so they look similar to the stacks pictured here. They should already be in order, but if they get mixed up, use the symbols printed on each card to group them again. Also grab some scissors, paper, and pens.
How To Solve Puzzles
The puzzles in Rebel Revolt involve making lateral connections, decoding messages, and folding problems. Whatever the challenge, you'll check your answers on your phone using the mission companion linked from the Hints & Mission Briefing page. Don't worry too much about this right now, there's a training mission you'll complete together before the game starts. Once you've solved all puzzles for a challenge, a button takes you to the next chapter.
Rebel Revolt is designed as an online game, you'll need to go online to check answers and access hints when your team gets stuck. If you'd rather skip that, you can play fully offline with the Printable Hints pack, just print the "printable hints" PDF in the game folder and you're good to go (fold it to keep it spoiler-free).
Get The Escape Party Started
Gather your friends and let's get this party started!
- Break out the snacks and crack open the drinks
- Lay out paper, pens, and scissors
- Start one of the Spotify playlists below
When you're ready to begin, give everyone a quick rundown on how escape rooms work, since some people will have never played one before. Open the Mission Guide on your phone and narrate the intro with pure extroverted style. It also contains plenty of hints for solving each puzzle, agree on how you'll use them as a group before the game begins. As a rule of thumb, it's time for a hint if players are stuck on a single puzzle for more than 5 minutes.
Mission Guide & HintsTips For Larger Groups
Schools, Camps & Youth Groups
- Split the group into teams of 4-8 that compete for King of the Hill
- Each group can play simultaneously
- Teams need 1-2 phones to look up hints in the Mission Guide, which also has full solutions, so competitive teams can be made to come to you for a hint with a time penalty instead
- It's a race to the finish, no timer needed unless your schedule requires one
- Make a big moment out of revealing the winning team
Corporate Team Building & Conferences
Rebel Revolt takes 30-60 minutes to set up and can be printed multiple times to scale to any group size.
- Place all puzzles in the middle of each team's table, sorted into the correct 6 piles
- Set a 60-minute timer
- Explain the scoring, ask teams to note any points lost from checking solutions or stepping on Stun Mines
- Each team reports their final score when time runs out, keep scores secret until you reveal the winning team
If you won't be playing the game yourself, a complete process map and full solution walkthrough is available for Game Masters, it contains spoilers, so only use it if you're running the game rather than playing it.
